During the 2018 General Assembly session, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle were able to broker a compromise with Dominion Energy to pass SB 996, also known as the Grid Transformation and Security Act.
From a clean energy standpoint, this bill is an enormous victory for Virginia consumers. Not only will the provisions in this bill clean Virginia’s electric grid, but it will create green jobs for future generations.

Lawmakers deserve credit for working together and ultimately holding Dominion accountable for their clean energy investments. Even those that ultimately voted against the measure worked to make utility monopolies more responsible and transparent. They demanded more accountability to keep our electric bill dollars from being wasted.
